Lodging and Location
Apprentices live in a homestead setting that fosters skill-building through active participation in household and family life, as well as guided access to the community.
The Trade is based in Piermont, in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and at the base of the White Mountains.
We are nestled within beautiful natural landscapes that provide access to various outdoor activities that change with the seasons. We are also located in close proximity to several larger towns that provide opportunities for entertainment, shopping and exploring:
Fairlee, Vermont: A year-round destination featuring community events and concerts, cafes and restaurants, winter sports and trails.
Plymouth, New Hampshire: Home to Plymouth State University and the amenities that college towns provide. Plymouth is just a short drive from Squam Lakes, the White Mountains, Waterville Valley and Loon Mountain, the Pemi and Baker Rivers, and lots of other outdoor destinations.
Hanover, New Hampshire: Home to Dartmouth College, Hanover is known for its offerings in the arts, intellectual discovery, and a host of social activity, cafes and dining options.
