Our team consists of some of the most experienced and recognizable professionals in the private adolescent and young-adult treatment profession and includes several members with extensive startup and executive leadership experience. 

Bill Kearney

Bill Kearney, MA

  • Bill is a key figure in shaping the vision for The Innstead Mountain Getaway—a luxury retreat located on the Mountain’s 2,000-acre property— and manages construction coordination, landscape development, and the stewardship of the land and its buildings. Bill is grateful for the opportunity to dedicate so much of his physical energy to caring for these acres. This passion connects his days running a small-scale landscaping business with the countless hours he still spends looking for answers in the woods.

    Prior to his work at The Trade, Bill left behind a career with a Boston-based finance firm to pursue his MA in Latin American Literature at the University of Massachusetts, a decision that would send him traveling extensively throughout Europe and Latin America and teaching in a wide variety of settings along the way. As a lifelong student and an experienced educator, he has spent 14 years in classroom settings ranging from traditional and alternative boarding schools to domestic and international universities.

    Bill is in constant pursuit of his next book and of his next outdoor adventure, and lives to share these adventures with his wife, Siobhan, and their three girls.

Mentor + Director of Vocational Program

Brittany Dietz

  • With over a decade of experience in education, she has a background teaching music to students in grades K–12 at public and therapeutic schools in the greater Philadelphia area. Her approach is rooted in the belief that meaningful relationships, creative expression, and community connection are essential to personal growth.

    Before her time in the classroom, Brittany worked with Worthwhile Wear, a nonprofit organization supporting survivors of human trafficking through housing, vocational training, and aftercare services. Most recently, she served as youth service specialist with Communities for Alcohol & Drug Free Youth, providing prevention education and outreach throughout Grafton County.

    Brittany holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in music education. She is also a certified yoga teacher committed to making the practice accessible and inclusive. Outside of her professional work, Brittany enjoys skiing, rock climbing, hiking, and exploring the White Mountains.

Greg Hitchcock, MA

  • Greg has experience in the education, behavioral health, mental health, and addiction treatment industries.  He has founded and directed many successful programs that have taken him from the tent to the boardroom.  

    As a nationally sought-after consultant, Greg has envisioned and launched therapeutic programs in Honduras and Russia, presented seminars and workshops at national conferences, and helped numerous therapeutic programs grow in quality, enrollment, and leadership.

    Greg has a bachelor’s degree from Houghton College with a double major in literature and adventure recreation, and a master’s degree in education and counseling from the University of Redlands. His educational background, combined with his extensive field and administrative experiences across the continuum of care, provides strong dynamic leadership that retains a grassroots sensitivity to both participants and their families. 

    When Greg is not busy at Moosilauke Visions, he enjoys boating, backpacking, and skiing with his wife Charlene and their children. Greg is also an avid mountaineer and fly-fisherman.

NOAH ZIND

  • Prior to working with The Trade, Noah spent years working with youth and young adults in a variety of settings, including Montessori schools, an international school in China, and youth programs in Utah. Throughout these experiences, he’s developed a passion for the profound impact of commitment to personal and professional growth through honesty and humility. In his work with The Trade, Noah is devoted to fostering meaningful connections between our everyday choices and what it means to live a fulfilling life. 

    Although he was born and raised in the Green Mountains of Vermont, Noah departed to explore as much of the country and the world as he could. He returned to New England in 2023 with degrees in secondary education and outdoor recreation leadership. He spends his free time attempting to nurture in his family the same sense of wonder, curiosity and adventure that has served him so well.

Will White

Will White, DA, LCSW

  • He works closely with prospective apprentices and their families to help them understand The Trade’s apprenticeship model, assess whether it is the right fit, and navigate the enrollment process with clarity, transparency, and care.

    A licensed clinical social worker, Will has spent his career supporting young people through periods of transition and growth. He has directed treatment programs, supervised clinicians, taught outdoor-based mental health care at Plymouth State University for over 20 years, and holds a Doctorate of Arts in Leadership focused on the evolution of outdoor mental health treatment. He is the author of Stories from the Field: A History of Wilderness Therapy and the host of the podcast Stories from the Field: Mental Health and the Outdoors. His work is rooted in ethical care, thoughtful mentorship, and helping young adults build capable, meaningful lives.

    Will lives in New Hampshire’s White Mountains with his family, where he enjoys hiking, backcountry skiing, and mountain biking.

Jennifer Barrientos

Zack Schafer, MS, OTR/L

Mentor + Occupational Therapy

  • He closely consulted with The Trade on incorporating OT into program design and continues to serve as OT consultant. He specializes in helping individuals overcome mental health challenges so they can lead meaningful, engaged lives. Zack joined the Mountain Valley team in 2021 as the program’s first-ever occupational therapist. Since then, he has received intensive training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy and has held various leadership roles at Mountain Valley. 

    Zack earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from Sacred Heart University (SHU) in 2015, received his master’s in occupational therapy from SHU in 2018, and then continued his post-professional education by enrolling in the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill’s OT Mental Health Fellowship program. 

    Originally a Massachusetts native, Zack lives in the Upper Valley with his wife and son. As a former collegiate athlete, Zack enjoys pushing his physical limits through yoga, hiking, running, and weight training. When he isn’t buzzing about, he enjoys reading, reflecting, and spending time in nature with family.

Jennifer Barrientos

  • Her work is rooted in a deep commitment to community building and to nurturing the whole human being through meaningful relationships, purposeful work, and connection to the natural world. Across farms, residential communities, and educational settings, Jennifer has focused on creating environments where people experience belonging, responsibility, and care for one another through shared work and time outdoors.

    Jennifer brings experience in residential and therapeutic community settings. She served as residential life faculty at the high school level, supporting adolescents from around the world in a

    residential school environment. She also worked as residential house leader in a community serving adults with disabilities, where daily life, outdoor work, and relationship-centered care were central to fostering independence and dignity. In both roles, Jennifer emphasized experiential learning, shared responsibility, and the importance of healthy social rhythms grounded in daily, practical activity.

    As a certified Waldorf teacher, Jennifer received her teacher training and certification through Bellarmine University and has many years of experience in early childhood and outdoor education. She is also the former owner and operator of an organic vegetable farm, where she ran a hands-on apprenticeship program through WWOOF. She taught organic and regenerative farming practices, food preservation, animal husbandry, and seasonal land stewardship. With years of training in child development and a lifelong commitment to supporting growth across the lifespan, Jennifer bringswarmth, structure, and steady presence to her work. She’s focused on creating outdoor-centered learning environments where individuals and communities can thrive.

Siobhan Kearney

Siobhan Kearney

  • This includes bookings, guest relations and satisfaction, website maintenance, social media outreach, marketing and advertising, housekeeping, food and beverage, budgeting, and community relations. Prior to her work at The Innstead, Siobhan worked in alumni relations at Dartmouth College, as meetings and events planner at Pioneer Investments in Boston, and as development community executive at The American Cancer Society. She received a B.A. in Spanish from St. Lawrence University. 

    Siobhan specializes in event planning, project management, volunteer management, and customer relations, but her most cherished role is raising her three young daughters with her husband, Bill. In her free time,you can find her running outside, cooking, and attending weekly trivia night with her friends.

Jim Hannett

  • Jim's first and greatest teacher was his grandfather, who he followed around faithfully as a curious and willing young apprentice. Prior to his work at The Mountain, Jim worked for eight years with Hood's Plumbing, two years with Paragon Excavation, and seven years with Patten's Gas. 

    In his free time, Jim can be found ripping around on his small fleet of motorized vehicles, fishing, hunting, camping, and tinkering on anything that might need tinkering.

Greg Kimball

  • He can build a home from ground up but is best known for his meticulous finish carpentry. Prior to his work at The Mountain, Greg built log homes with his uncle for Northeastern Log Homes, a business that his grandfather had founded years before. 

    In his free time, Greg enjoys riding his bike and hanging out with his wife and two sons.

Forrest Boucher

  • Forrest has always tinkered with small engines and strengthened his skills in machine operation while serving as a heavy equipment operator with the Marines from 2006-2010. Forrest started carpentry as a side job while he worker security for Dartmouth Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, but he has made it his primary focus. It allows him to continue to explore how to take things apart and put them back together.

    In his free time, Forrest can be found fishing, working on his fixer-upper house, and playing with his two dogs.

Dominic

Domenic Pascariello

  • Domenic possesses a diverse background in the outdoor industry, having honed his expertise in rock guiding, ski patrolling, and adaptive sports. He firmly believes that the outdoors serve as a platform for self-discovery and personal growth, accessible to all.

    Prior to his tenure in New Hampshire, Domenic spearheaded a national program for climbers with disabilities. Through the non-profit organization Paradox Sports, he traveled across the country, imparting knowledge and guiding individuals who faced limited access to the outdoors.

    Domenic holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is a certified patroller through the National Ski Patrol. In his leisure time, Domenic engages in activities such as biking, splitboarding, and cherishes his family, including his wife, one-year-old daughter, and a black Labrador Retriever.

Ted Boutin

  • Previously he owned Ted’s Excavating for 30 years and worked with heavy machinery for a previous 15 years with his father-in-law.

    Ted’s father-in-law helped him learn the basics of machinery and walked him through his first jobs until he gained the expertise to work on his own. His decades of experience equal meticulous work, and a co-worker noted that Ted is so skilled that he could brush someone’s teeth with the bucket of a 10-ton backhoe. 

    In his free time, Ted stays busy with work at home, working for his son, and riding motorcycles. He also enjoys occasional vacations and trips to the casino with his wife.

Mike Lavoie

Mentor + Auto Repair, Small Business Management

  • He took over the shop from his father in 1980 and received a NAPA Automotive Service of Excellence Award in 2006. He attended vocational school for automotive technology and received additional training and mentorship from his father.

    Along with his busy schedule running his shop, Mike also served as Haverhill’s fire department chief for 26 years and has volunteered for the department for close to 50 years.

    When Mike isn’t working or volunteering, he enjoys golfing and restoring antique snowmobiles. Over the years, he’s made many trips to ride up Mount Washington with a group of antique snowmobile enthusiasts.

Ty Newman

  • He attended vocational school in Vermont, which sparked his interest for working on cars. During his senior year, he got the opportunity to work with Mike Lavoie, and they’ve been co-workers ever since. Ty considers Mike to be his mentor and credits him for the experience he’s gained in the industry.

    After Ty clocks out, he enjoys spending time outside. His favorite activities include riding his motorcycle and Jeeping.

Nick Gray

  • He is a skilled set of hands on a construction site but has focused primarily on land stewardship during his time here. Nick knows his way around our fleet of tractors and is has proven a versatile member of our team.

    In his free time, Nick can be found fishing, shooting a basketball, playing golf, or walking with his dog Lola.

Paula Riggs

Paula L. Riggs

Mentor + Admissions Coordinator

  • She is an experienced admissions counselor and director in therapeutic high schools, young adult facilities and life skills programs. Paula’s patience and true concern stem from real-life experience identifying and articulating the specific therapeutic needs of struggling youth and adults. Her passion is working with families in crisis, directly with parents, adolescents, and young adults, helping them heal their lives. Paula’s return is reuniting families and restoring health and abundance to their lives. She describes her work as living in a life raft, pulling families in, and rowing safely to the appropriate shore.

    Paula is the proud mother of two grown boys, one in the Coast Guard and the other an IT support supervisor. Any time she gets to spend with them is cherished. She spends her free time hiking or riding her horses with friends and family, always with a phone strapped to the saddle, never too busy for a family in need.

Meredith Fogg, PMHNP-BC

  • She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Colby-Sawyer College and her post-master’s certificate from Norwich University. Meredith received her clinical training at New Hampshire Hospital and at an adult and pediatric specialty clinic at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. Prior to joining Moosilauke Counseling Solutions, Meredith worked as both an inpatient and outpatient registered nurse at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and for Becket Family of Services.

    ​Meredith treats clients with a variety of mental health challenges. She understands that everyone has their own unique experiences that shape their ideas about treatment and strives to ensure that her clients feel as though their care is personalized to meet their needs.

    ​Meredith lives in the Upper Valley with her husband and son. She likes to spend time with her family and friends, golfing, and playing hockey.

Nurse Practitioner

Will Laughlin, MA, M.Ed

  • He has served as the president of an international university with campuses in Tokyo and Osaka, the head of school and CEO for several therapeutic boarding schools and treatment programs in North Carolina and New Hampshire, and the executive director of education for a group of five therapeutic schools in Idaho and California. 

    Will has founded and co-founded several companies, including a branding consultancy, a surf-themed international school in Costa Rica, and an international expeditionary-learning non-profit.   Will’s career has focused largely on startup, turnaround, and growth management for education and mental-health companies.  As part of his broader work as chief strategy and growth officer for Moosilauke Visions, Will currently serves as CEO for The Trade, assisting the program’s executive director with strategy, resource assignment, and board relations. 

    A fifth-generation native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Will stayed close to home for his education, earning degrees from U.C. Berkeley and Stanford University, where he met his wife, Beth.  A former world-class athlete herself, Beth enjoys helping Will plan and execute ultra-distance running adventures, which include record-setting expeditions across Costa Rica, Death Valley, and the Rocky Mountains.  

    Having lived and adventured throughout the US and abroad, Will and Beth are happily settled in New Hampshire with their son Colton and his big brother, Woody the Dog.

Jay “J.D.” Wolter

  • Moosilauke Visions represents the next chapter in Jay’s career. He hopes to use this chapter to help other mission-focused founders, owners, and trustees achieve growth and sustainability for their organizations.

    Jay’s formula for success focuses on continuous program improvement, employing holistic and experiential approaches while better engaging community and family supports. This approach helped his original non-profit business—Becket Family of Services—successfully reintegrate hundreds of difficult to treat students back into the community. It also led to Becket’s expansion into Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and beyond. Becket now operates a variety of successful treatment programs and facilities ranging from short-term assessment programs to highly supportive subacute facilities, to boutique private-pay programs. 

    Prior to taking over Becket in 1993, Jay practiced health law for several years, helping hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and mental health programs navigate legal challenges ranging from regulatory issues, to financing, mergers and acquisitions. He is a social entrepreneur to the core, with a special skill in finding and developing talented leaders and preparing them for lives of leadership and service.

Joseph Denucci

  • As president of DeNucci & Associates, he uses his expertise in comprehensive strategic planning and business development to provide consulting services for clients with interests in merging conventional health and medicine with alternative medicine, integrative medicine, healthy lifestyle, and wellness. 

    He is also the co-founder and managing partner of NextHealth, LLC, a Chicago-based private investment firm lending expertise and capital to startup companies in the healthy lifestyle space. Additionally, he is a manager and investment advisor to William O’Donnell Jr., as well as the Manager of O’Donnell’s Family Office. 

    Over the years, Joseph has developed and owned several healthcare-related businesses and has worked on many projects for a variety of organizations. He has a background in senior and executive management with conventional behavioral and traditional medicine companies. Notably, Joseph developed an integrated behavioral health management model called Behavioral Services Management to administrate the full range of behavioral health services for Baptist/St. Vincent’s’ Healthcare System in Florida. He also wrote a comprehensive business planning strategy for them to develop and integrate complementary and alternative medicine programs within select medical practice groups.

    Joseph has also served as interim chief operating officer for Duke University Health System’s Campus for Living, COO of WorldCare Dubai, founder of Insight Intensive at Gold Lake, and partner and operations executive for Asgard Health. He worked as both the general manager of Miraval Resort’s renowned Life in Balance Spa and later as COO and senior vice president of their Wellness, Spa, and Guest Program Development department. Additionally, he holds board seats for organizations such as Constellations Behavioral Health, AIM House, and Boulder Integrated Health. This experience has given him a vast wealth of knowledge in wide range of areas, including working with young adults, running residential facilities, creating prevention programs, implementing medically supervised fitness and weight management, and overseeing therapeutic spa and clinical program services.
