Where We Work: The Upper Valley Stewardship Center
For apprentices who are ready to fly high, The Trade is connected to the Upper Valley Stewardship Center. Based just down the road, the Center worked for more than 20 years to get people out in nature, stretch their limits and push their boundaries. They split their programming offerings for local schools and the public, offering a mix of ropes courses and high adventure opportunities.
It's uncommon to find a ropes course in your backyard, but it’s a perk of The Trade. Apprentices might do team building challenges on the course once they’ve signed on, and have the possibility of gaining the training and certifications to assist the Upper Valley Stewardship Center with future adventure programming.
One certification comes from the High 5 Adventure Learning Center. The Association for Challenge Course Technology offers three levels of training so practitioners can help facilitate team-building experiences in nature. As the Innstead expands its offerings to corporate adventure retreats, that experience is especially valuable. Apprentices looking for an outdoor-centric career can also consider pursuing a degree in adventure education at nearby Plymouth State University once they graduate the from the program.
We contribute to our community by helping people get outside in a structured, safe way. Our recreation opportunities are world-class, and our apprentices will work hard so they can play hard.
