We are located in beautiful Pike, New Hampshire, near the scenic White Mountains.
Our location is perfect for outdoor activities without the crowds. Days and nights are quiet and distraction-free. But we’re also located near several larger towns that provide countless entertainment options:
Fairlee, Vermont: A summer community concert series, world class music series from local Lake Morey Resort, Independence Day celebration, plus several restaurants both in town and nearby, make Fairlee a busy place in the summer time. Winter sports including skating on the longest skating trail in the US, and pond hockey tournaments.
Plymouth, New Hampshire: Home of Plymouth State University, it’s been ranked one of America’s Top 10 Small Towns as well as one of National Geographic Adventure Magazine’s 50 next great adventure towns. Plymouth is just a short drive from Squam Lakes, the White Mountains, Waterville Valley and Loon Mountain, the Pemi and Baker Rivers, and lots of other outdoor adventures!
Hanover, New Hampshire: Located in the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont, Hanover acts as a crossroads of the outdoors, the arts, quintessential New England small-town living, and intellectual discovery. The home of Dartmouth College, visitors can enjoy an intellectual atmosphere, witness world-class arts, and embark on unforgettable hikes.
For the past several decades, Jay Wolter has expanded his parents' vision for The Mountain to include The Upper Valley Stewardship Center, The Innstead Mountain Getaway, The Glades back country ski mountain, and--of course, The Trade. In keeping with The Mountain's broader mission to connect people to the land in meaningful, healing, and sustainable ways, The Trade offers young adults a place to reset, find direction, and build a life rooted in meaningful work and community engagement.
