Dr. Will White, DA, LCSW

Executive Director

Will White brings over three decades of leadership in behavioral healthcare and experiential education to his role at The Trade. He co-founded and led Summit Achievement, a nationally recognized hybrid wilderness therapy program, from 1996 to 2022. Will earned his master’s in social work in 1987 and completed a Doctorate of Arts in Leadership in 2011, where his dissertation traced the evolution of wilderness therapy through pivotal figures and events. He is the author of Stories from the Field: A History of Wilderness Therapy, host of the podcast Stories from the Field: Mental Health and the Outdoors, and a faculty member at nearby Plymouth State University.

Will lives with his wife, Lisa, in a rural town in Northern New Hampshire, where they raised their two sons. He runs a working tree farm on land near The Trade that’s been in his family for generations and practices self-sufficiency through forestry, gardening, and stewardship of the land. His lifelong connection to the outdoors and belief in the power of purposeful work and community make him deeply aligned with The Trade’s mission to guide young adults toward belonging, autonomy, and mastery.
